Dr. Jeffrey George
Jeffrey George, professor of classical and jazz guitar studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, earned his doctorate from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ where he was awarded both a graduate college scholarship and a board of regents’ grant. He was awarded a teaching assistantship at Indiana University where he earned his masters degree. George has been the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards including support for academic programs at Berklee College of Music, Musicians Institute, and the National Guitar Summer Workshop. Artists with whom he has performed include Ritchie Havens, Taj Mahal, Joe Henderson, Billy Childs, David Baker and Richard “Groove” Holmes.
